However, head-to-toe black can be very overwhelming and in some cultures it is associated with mourning. This winter, many stores are providing an alternative to black. Earthy tones have really come out to play and the truth is, they can be just as versatile.
Earthy tones include, mustard, red, military green, burnt orange and this year we’re seeing a lot of blush - a “musky” pink colour which screams femininity. Soft and incredibly dreamy in appearance, it looks particularly striking on olive to dark skin tones but if you’re fair like me, it doesn’t mean you can’t share in one of this winter’s go-to hues. Perhaps choose an accessory to counteract the paleness it transmits or simply choose a print which incorporates a little blush. If that doesn’t take your fancy, try red. This season Melbourne fashion stylists have claimed red to be the new black!
Whilst I love my black, this season I have a major crush on blush! I urge, or should I say “challenge”, you to choose a colour to wear this year, other than black, which is destined to brighten up the dullest of your winter days.
